Dr. John Hisel
Dr. Hisel was raised in the Boise area after moving with his family from California at age 4. He attended Boise schools graduating in 1978 from Boise High School along with his high school sweetheart, Terri. They were married shortly after high school and celebrate 46 years of marriage in March 2025! Together they have 2 married children and 6 grandchildren. Dr. Hisel and Terri make their home in Kuna along with a blind Springer Spaniel named Pippa and 2 horses.
Immediately after high school, Dr. Hisel attended College of Idaho graduating Cum Laude in 1982. It was during these college years they welcomed son, John III into their family. Dr. Hisel was accepted into the pilot program of the Idaho Dental Education Program and he and Terri moved to Pocatello, Idaho for his first year of dental school.
9 months later they moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Dr. Hisel would attend Creighton’s Boyne School of Dental Science, graduating Suma Cum Laude in 1986. It was also during this year they welcomed daughter, Melissa into their family. Dr. Hisel became a Captain in the United States Air Force in Fall of 1985, completing his General Practice Residency Training at Offutt Air Force Base Nebraska. After 2 years of General Duty at Fairchild Air Force Base, WA, Dr. Hisel and Terri set up Private Practice in Boise in August 1989.
Their son, John E Hisel, III is the Lead Pastor at Engage Boise and is married to Chandra who is a CPA in Meridian. John and Chandra have 4 children: Kristina, John IV, Luke and Hope.
Their daughter Melissa is a Pediatric Registered Dietitian and is a Principal Medical Liaison at Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Melissa is married to Kent, who is a Physical Therapist employed at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital. Together they have 2 girls: Ainsley and Kinzlee.
Professional Info
Professionally, Dr. Hisel is active in numerous dental organizations including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association, and the Southwest Idaho Dental Society. Dr. Hisel is also a member of the International College of Dentists-USA Section, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy for Dentists – both of which are dental organizations honoring Dentists for their continued commitment to Dentistry and service to their community. Dr. Hisel served the Idaho State Dental Society as its President in 2016-2017 and was awarded the ISDA’s President’s Award in 2018. In June 2021 Dr. Hisel was honored to receive the ISDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Hisel has served as one of Idaho’s Delegates to the American Dental Association’s House of Delegates, as a member of the ISDA’s Legislative Committee and also has served our state as a consultant to the Idaho State Board of Dentistry. Dr. Hisel represented Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington on the Council of Government Affairs for the American Dental Association, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Dental Association.
Volunteer Work
When he is not in our office, Dr. Hisel travels for the American Dental Association or can be found volunteering in any number of dental related community projects. He has served as a team Dentist for the Idaho Steelheads, was a member of the Idaho Dental Forensics Team and was on staff at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for 25 years. Together with daughter Melissa, he serves on the Board of Directors for Idaho’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. Hisel and his wife Terri have always been a great team and together they developed and continue to be a part of a free dental clinic in Garden City which exists today as Genesis Community Health.
Dr. Hisel and Terri are longtime members of CityHope Church in Boise and also attend son John’s church, Engage Boise. When they are not traveling, he and Terri enjoy spending time at their lakeside cabin in Donnelly, cycling, and spending time with their families. Dr. Hisel loves college football (Go Broncos!) loves to golf and runs to train for marathons and half marathons.
Dr. Eric Hoidal
Dr. Eric Hoidal has been with Paramount Family Dental since July 2008. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Oregon in 2003. While at Oregon, Dr. Hoidal was a member of the Dean’s list and received the 2003 Analytical Chemistry Award. He was also an active member of Campus Crusade for Christ. Dr. Hoidal was accepted into the Idaho Dental Education Program and attended his first year of dental school at Idaho State University. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to finish his final three years at Creighton University’s Boyne School of Dental Science.
Dr. Hoidal was a member of the Dean’s list at Creighton and was also listed in Who’s Who Among Students in Colleges and Universities. While in dental school, he was privileged to be a part of a medical/dental mission team traveling to the Dominican Republic. After dental school, Dr. Hoidal was accepted into the Idaho State University Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program in Boise. He completed his residency on June 30, 2008. Professionally, Dr. Hoidal is a member of the American Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association and the Southwest Idaho Dental Society.
Personal Info
Dr. Hoidal was born and raised in Boise and attended Boise Schools. He graduated from Borah High School in 1999. While in high school, Dr. Hoidal participated in varsity football, basketball, track and tennis. He and his wife Michelle were married in the fall of 2009. They have 3 girls. Dr. Hoidal and his family live in Southwest Boise where they share their home with their dog, Griffin. They enjoy being outdoors and spending time as a family. His girls love to stop by the office to say hello. If you hear a little voice yelling “Daddy!” you know it is them looking for their favorite dentist.
Dr. Daniel Ackerman
Dr. Daniel Ackerman joined Paramount Family Dental in November 2023 meeting many of our patients while in the office 1-2 days per week. It didn’t take us long to figure out that he was “great fit” for our team members and our patients, and we were thrilled to have him join our practice full time in July 2024. Prior to joining our team, Dr. Ackerman spent 5 years practicing with his father in our valley. Dr. Ackerman is grateful to be a part of our amazing team and feels very much at home at Paramount Family Dental!
Dr. Ackerman graduated with honors from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Biochemistry before attending Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry where he also graduated with honors. While at OHSU, he participated in a selective Tucker Gold study club that focused on conservative esthetic treatment in gold, receiving recognition for outstanding achievement in Implant Dentistry and Periodontology.
Dr. Ackerman was raised in the Meridian area from the age of 3 and is thankful to be able to raise his family in the Treasure Valley. He and his wife, Danielle, are high school sweethearts and were married in 2015. They live in Boise with their 2 young daughters Amelia and Adelyn, as well as their golden doodle Sampson and their cat Peanut. When he’s not taking care of patients, Dr. Ackerman naturally stays busy with his young family and enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, and snow shoeing. He and Danielle both love the outdoors and enjoy spending time camping and hiking together.

Heidi
Heidi is a Boise native and graduated from Idaho State University in 1989. She joined Paramount Family Dental in 1991. Heidi has been married to Mark since 1989. They love spending time together traveling and cycling. They have two adult children, Jordan and Tommy. Heidi works two days a week and says she has the best of both worlds. She loves working and seeing her patients and coworkers but gets to be a wife and mom almost full time.
Kristin
Kristin graduated from Centennial High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University. She began working at Paramount in 1993. She is blessed with a wonderful husband, Gerald, two sons and a daughter and loves to spend time with her family. Kristin also enjoys quiet time reading books, gardening, skiing, camping, traveling, and doing lunch with friends. She feels blessed to be part of our team and the opportunity it has brought to build great relationships with fabulous patients.
Gena
Gena was born and raised in Boise and attended Boise High School. She graduated from Idaho State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Gena has worked for Paramount Family Dental since the summer of 1996 and enjoys her patients and her work. She is married to Nate and together with their children, they enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, rafting and camping.
Cherry
Cherry graduated in 2007 from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. In June of 2010 she rejoined Paramount Family Dental and is passionate about her profession. Cherry and her husband, Ryan, have three wonderful children and are serving in the ministry together. In her free time, Cherry enjoys reading, music, playing games and spending time with her family.
Amy
Amy was born and raised in the Treasure Valley. She graduated from Kuna High School in 2002, Eastern Oregon University in 2006 and dental hygiene school in 2008. Amy married her college sweetheart in 2010 and they have three wonderful children (Larrysa, LaQuan and Cort). Her family is her world! In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, crafts and reading. Amy also runs the Boise School District Children’s Free Dental Clinic.
Aubrey
Aubrey was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She graduated from Borah High School and earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Idaho State University. She joined Paramount Family Dental in May 2025. She married her husband, Zach, in June 2025, and they have the sweetest orange kitten named Stevie. Aubrey and her family are active in their church and enjoy growing in their faith together. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing volleyball and pickleball, going on walks, snowboarding, and spending time with her family. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is getting to know her amazing patients and helping them love their smiles!

Erika
Erika has been in dentistry for 39 years. She graduated as a certified dental assistant from American Institute of Dental Technology in 1983. Erika is a returning employee of Paramount Family Dental. She first started with us back in 1995 and worked for 12 years, and returned in September 2022. She enjoys working with the patients and helping them have a pleasant dental experience. Erika has lived in Boise for 32 years. She enjoys running, skiing, and yoga.
Madonna
Madonna joined our team in April 2022 after taking 10 years away from the dental field. She wanted to get back into dentistry to serve and help people. She is married with two children and enjoys her time with her family.
Cori
Corinna is a Boise native. She attended the Boise State University Dental Assisting Program and graduated in 1984. She married her high school sweetheart in 1993. They have a fur baby, a Pomeranian. She chose a career that she loves, and it is her pleasure to serve our patients. Family is a very important part of her life. She loves spending time outdoors, working in her yard, traveling, and many other hobbies.
Allison
I am originally from Southern CA, Riverside, but I moved to Boise 15 years ago with my husband. I graduated from my Dental Assisting program through CWI back in 2022, where I also received my CDA certification. I started working at Paramount in the summer of 2024, and I am very grateful to have found such a wonderful office and to be a part of such a great team! My husband and I have two boys who are 11, and 5. We love having outdoor adventures together as a family; we take our Jeep off-roading and enjoy hiking and camping together. In my free time, I always enjoy hiking in the Boise foothills, baking, cooking, and reading thrillers. My favorite foods are Italian and Mexican, and I LOVE chocolate and coffee.
Cami
Cami is a third generation Idahoan, raised in the Treasure Valley. Shortly after receiving her degree in Criminal Justice, God led her down the path of dentistry and has been an assistant since 2013. She loves getting to know patients on a more personal level and creating relationships with them. Along with her husband and children, they enjoys going camping, fishing, hunting, reading, and traveling the world- primarily Europe.

Kim-Office Manager
Kim was born and raised in Idaho and joined Paramount Family Dental in April of 2024. Kim is a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Specialist with over 20 years of experience in dental billing . She provides our patients with top notch customer service in helping them understand their statements and insurance coverage. She is a Member of American Academy of Dental Office Managers AADOM and has attended several training courses throughout her career to grow her knowledge base. Growing up in Idaho, Kim loves the vast variety of the weather that makes it easy for her and her husband Andrew and stepdaughter Victoria to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. In her free time, you can find Kim riding e-bikes along the greenbelt with Andrew or walking their two sweet pups. Kim enjoys reading, anything crafty and loves learning new things.
Jessica
Jessica is an Idaho Native growing up in the small town of Homedale, Idaho. She loved the dentist as a child and began her dental career attending Apollo College. Completing the Dental Assisting program in 2005. Jessica loves Idaho and the communities that make up this beautiful state. She has always had a passion to serve and make a difference in the life of others, Dentistry has played a key role in that mission.
When not helping patients with their dental needs, you will find Jessica chasing her four children, sharing her love for music, ecstatic dance, and in the quiet moments in prayerful meditation for our planet and the people of this planet.
Ivy
Born and raised in Boise, Ivy graduated from Capital High School in 2015 and began her career in the dental field in 2017, working in orthodontics. She joined our team in January 2025 and loves being part of a profession that helps people smile with confidence. Outside of work, Ivy enjoys spending time with her husband, Milos, and their pets – a long haired German Sheperd named Zuko and two calico cats, Molly and Millie. In her free time, she loves trying new recipes, going on walks, reading, and doing nails. Ivy looks forward to starting a family of her own one day and building a life full of love, laughter, and connection.
